CHARACTERIZATION OF THE CYTOCHROME P-450-CONTAINING MIXED FUNCTION OXIDASE SYSTEM OF RAT COLON

The rat colon drug metabolism system is induced by pretreatment with the gastrointestinal hormones pentagastrin, secretin, and cholecystokinin. This system has also been resolved into its enzyme components cytochrome P-450 and cytochrome P-450 reductase which can be recombined with phospholipid to reconstitute drug metabolism activity .
