Growth of the carp and lipid distribution in its tissues when fed on different foods in heated waters
1979
An analysis of data on the growth dynamics and lipid distribution in the body cavity, muscles and liver of carp fed on different foods has shown that high protein food stimulates growth and reduces the accumulation of lipid in the body cavity and muscles. Growth is retarded on plant food and lipids are abundantly deposited in the tissues at a high temperature. The greatest seasonal variations in lipid metabolism were noted in the liver. The special features of metabolic processes in the carp in heated waters are discussed.
