A simple method of obtaining single-frame enlargements of ciné film.

1969
In cine studies of the gastrointestinal tract, the cardiovascular system, and the urinary tract a single frame often best shows the fistula, the intravascular shunt, or the urethral valve. A simple method of enlarging and preserving this single frame at the time the cine film is projected is of great value for teaching and easy reference. It is the purpose of this paper to describe such a method using commercially prepared solarized x-ray duplicating film2. The selected cine frame is projected on a wall in the size of the desired copy. After adjusting the focus the projector is turned off, and a convenient size duplicating film is taped where the image fell. The projector is then turned on for a fixed period of time. The time of exposure will vary with size of the image and the type of study. Once this time is determined, however, reproducible results can be obtained since there is considerable latitude with this extremely slow film. Timing is done with the second hand of a clock. For angiocardiography an...
