Analysis of Time-Bandwidth Product in Cooperative Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Network

2020
The predominant factor in wireless communication is the spectrum and as far as efficient use of spectrum is concern cognitive radio (CR) has emerged as a propitious technology to deal with the spectrum inefficiency. Though cognitive radio network (CRN) helps in achieving this aim but for the efficient use of the spectrum, spectrum sensing plays a key role into it. Cooperative spectrum sensing has been proved to be the prominent solution to the effective sensing of spectrum. It allows more than one secondary user to detect the spectrum collectively and the optimal solution is achieved by this collective decision. Various factors such as threshold, sensing time, time-bandwidth product, voting rule etc. contribute into the effective spectrum sensing. In this paper the analysis of time-bandwidth product has been done with the help of optimized threshold and the optimal voting rule. The optimization regarding time-bandwidth product has been done to achieve the minimum total error rate.
