The invention discloses a spherical motor and a robot. The spherical motor comprises a stator sphere and a rotor sphere, wherein the stator sphere is fixed and is provided with a plurality of control units; each control unit is provided with a plurality of warp iron cores and a plurality of weft iron cores; windings are respectively arranged on each warp iron core and each weft iron core; the rotor sphere is supported on a spherical joint; the rotor sphere and the spherical joint share the center of a sphere; when the windings of the warp iron cores of the control units are powered up, the rotor sphere rotates around the center of the sphere in the warp direction; and when the windings of the weft iron cores of the control units are powered up, the rotor sphere rotates around the center of the sphere in the weft direction. The applicant creatively schemes out a brand-new spherical motor by utilizing the principle of a switch resistance motor, so that the spherical motor can move around the center of the sphere in any direction.
