Transfer of RNA from nucleus to cytoplasm in early development of fish.

1972
Abstract The kinetics of the transfer of RNA synthesized at the mid-late blastula stages was studied in loach ( Misgurnus fossilis ) and loach ♀ × goldfish ( Carassius auratus auratus ) ♂ hybrid embryos by means of autoradiography. Diploid [LL] and haploid [(L)L] loach embryos, diploid [LG] and androgenetic haploid [(L)G] hybrid embryos were used in the experiments. In diploid loach embryos during the first 2 h of RNA synthesis (7–8 h of development) no RNA was released from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. At the late blastula stage (9 h) about 48% of synthesized RNA enters the cytoplasm. During the stages of gastrulation (11–15 h) an additional 30% of RNA is transferred to the cytoplasm. Autoradiographical analysis revealed that there are no significant differences in the rate of RNA transfer from nucleus to cytoplasm between hybrid and control loach embryos.
