Design of a Precision Calorimetric System for Measuring Heats of Solution

ABSTRACT A submarine-type solution calorimeter has been built. The calorimeter can be used to measure the heats of solution of solid and gaseous compounds. The standard heats of solution of KC1 and LiC1 in water and heat of reaction of THAM with 0.1 N HC1 agree well (within 0.2%) with the literature values.
