Special applications firmware-a panel discussion (part II)

Abstract A panel session on Special Applications Firmware was included in the Program of EUROMICRO 77 — the Third Symposium on Microprocessing and Microprogramming — held in Amsterdam in October 1977. The introductory position papers of the panelists proved to be of such a high quality that Panel Chairman Helmut Berndt assumed the task to combine them into a single paper. Part I was published in the September 1978 issue (Vol. 4, nr. 5) of the EUROMICRO Journal. This — subsequent — part II wraps-up those positions largely shared by an interested audience. There appear to be no major controversies, as pointed out in the conclusions.
