Evaluation on the phakic anterior chamber intraocular lens implantion for high myopia

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of phakie anterior chamber intraocular lens implantation for high myopia.Methoda Verisyse implantations were performed on 16patients(28eyes)with high myopia,Visual acuity including far and near sight、accomodative ability、mean counts of endothelium were checked at pre-and post-operation.Results The average follow-up was 16 months(12～28months).Any complain was not detected and tilting or decentmtion was not found obviously; Uncorrected visual acuity after operation was betterthan that of before.The mean accommodation was(3.18 ±0.89)D pre-operation,and(5.34±0.78)D at 12 months post-operation,the mean accommodation was improved markedly compared with that of pre-operation(P 0.05).The mean postoperative spherical equivalent was-0.59±0.28D.Conclusion The implantation of phakic anteriorchamber IOL for high myopia is effective,safe and stable without any severe complication at short term following-up.
