Porous dry granules of a hydrogenated block copolymer.

1999
The invention relates to dry porous crumbs of a block hydrogenated copolymer obtained by hydrogenating a block copolymer comprising (a) at least one block copolymer of monomer units of aromatic vinyl and (b) at least one block polymer mainly composed of monomeric conjugated diene units and having a molecular weight of 70,000 or greater. Dried porous crumbs have the water content of 1% by weight or less and have the property of absorbing oil in a proportion of 1''0 or greater, in proportion to the weight of an oil absorbing porous crumbs when the dried crumbs dry porous dipped in oil at 25 under atmospheric pressure for 1 minute, based on the weight of dry porous lumps. The invention also relates to a process for producing the same. When the dried porous crumbs are used as modifiers in the production of a resin composition for molding from a thermoplastic resin yun liquid additive, and a softening agent or a silicone oil, they can produce articles with shapes having excellent appearance and which can be produced by molding the molding resin composition.
