Impedance and corrosion behaviour of the carbon fibre electrode in aqueous battery electrolytes-A preliminary study

1998
Electrochemical aspects of polyacrylonitrile ( PAN ) based carbon fibre electrodes in different concentrations of aqueous lithium salts, viz., lithium perchlorate and lithium chloride have been examined using the impedance technique and potential versus time profile. The corrosion rates of the electrode are determined for the constant time ( 600 h ) by traditional weight loss method. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was performed on post-immersed electrode samples to follow the morphological changes in the anodic material of the rocking chair rechargeable lithium battery.
