CdTe crystal growth in the soviet facility ZONA 4

Two CdTe crystal growth experiments were successfully performed during the unmanned PHOTON 7 mission in october 1991. CdTe crystals were grown by the travelling heater method under 1g and μg conditions with and without a rotating magnetic field. All experiments were accompanied by theoretical modeling of temperature profiles, phase boundaries and flow patterns in the solution zone.
