Magnetostriction and magnetomechanical coupling of heat-treated Fe54Ni20Nb3Cu1Si13B9 metallic glass

Abstract The magnetomechanical coupling coefficient of the strip-shape samples of the Fe 54 Ni 20 Nb 3 Cu 1 Si 13 B 9 alloy was investigated after annealing in vacuum in the temperature range 100–600 °C. Saturation magnetostriction reaches 22×10 −6 after annealing at 515 °C. The magnetomechanical coupling coefficient reaches maximum value equal to 0.68.
