Reflections on the Past, Present and Future of CMS:Setting an Agenda for Action and Activism

This panel symposium will be of interest to members of the CMS Division, as this year marks the 20th anniversary of the CMS Workshops and the 10th anniversary of the move from a Special Interest Group to a full Division of the Academy of Management. The organizers of the symposium include the current Co-Chairs of the Division and the editors of the Organization special paper series focused on the role of CMS in the times of austerity, post-truth, anti- intellectualism, and the rise of right-wing populism. The symposium brings together foundational thinkers that helped form CMS as a field of inquiry within the AOM, scholars who are currently shaping the field, as well as scholars whose work will help define the future of CMS.
