Spectral sensitization of a semiconductor by mixtures of aggregated cyanine dyes: photoelectrochemical study
1992
Abstract Using photoelectrochemical methods, the spectral sensitization of a semiconductor by mixtures of J aggregates of oxacarbo-, imidacarbo- and quinomonomethinecyanines has been studied. It is shown that in these mixtures the photoexcitation of one aggregated dye can induce oxidation of another. The effect of the interaction between aggregates on the photoelectrochemical behaviour of a sensitized semiconductor electrode is discussed.
