Dependence of the parameters of the equivalent damper circuit in a turbogenerator rotor on the initial short-circuit current

A method of identifying the parameters of a synchronous machine on the basis of experimental data obtained in manufacturing-plant acceptance tests is outlined. Synthesis of the equivalent circuit along the longitudinal axis reflecting the influence of current displacement and magnetic saturation on the parameters of the stator winding and the massive rotor components is considered. The method is illustrated for turbogenerators of power 160 and 500 MV.A.
