Analysis of an isolated self-excited induction generator

In this paper, analyses of the isolated operation of an induction generator are described. Two approaches for analysis of the operating frequency during isolated operation are presented: an analytical method based on eigenvalue analysis and simulation analysis using EMTP. The results obtained from the eigenvalue method are in good agreement with the simulation results. The eigenvalue method also provides good estimations of other state variables during the isolated operation.
