Ultrafast modulation of optical metamaterials

The optical response of fishnet metamaterial can be modulated in femtosecond time scale. This modulation dynamics is mainly determined by the constituting dielectric medium, but the modulation magnitude is greatly enhanced through the plasmon resonance.
