Abstract Bisphosphonates constitute a class of drugs that act primarily act by inhibition of bone resorption. These agents are widely used in the treatment calcium and bone metabolic disorders including osteoporosis, Paget's disease, hypercalcemia, and metastatic bone disease. This article will provide an overview of the pharmacology of these compounds.
