Objective:The study was designed to evaluate cataract extraction to help poor people to resume vision in the coteau. Methods : 2675 eyes with cataract were treated with modificatory modern extracapsular cataract extraction or non-phacoemulsification cataract extraction with small incision. Results: The first day of postoperation, the visual acuity with correction was 0.3 in 57 eyes(2.13%), 0.5 to 0.8 in 1829 eyes(68.37%), 50.9 in 509 eyes(19.03%).There were corneal edema in 71 cases (2.65%) , and vitreous hernia followed posterior capsular rupture in 87 cases (3.25%), and in the mean time all of the cases were implanted intraocular lens . Conclusion:It can be saved the money and material with modificatory cataract extraction,and more poor people can be received operation to resume vision, by the way the quality was kept well .
