The interaction of staphylococcal protein a with free coelomocytes of annelids

Abstract The Staphylococcal protein A (SpA) binding protein was detected on the surface of annelid coelomocytes. The flow cytometric analysis revealed that 50 % coelomocytes of Lumbricus terrestris react with SpA, a figure six times higher than the number of positive coelomocytes found in Eisenia foetida .
