X-ray single crystal investigation of the NdOsSi3−x compound

Abstract The crystal structure of the NdOsSi 3− x compound (I4 mm space group, a = 4.227(2) A, c = 9.922(5) A) was refined from single crystal X-ray diffraction to R = 0.0401, wR 2 = 0.1073 for 145 reflections with I o >2 σ ( I o ). This compound belongs to the BaNiSn 3 type of structure:
