Objective To improve the half-life and tissue targeting of superoxide dismutase (SOD) in suppressing reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated injury, SOD was chemically modified with N,N,N-trimethyl chitosan chloride (TMC) to generate TMC-SOD.
