A method of synthesizing coordinated optimization between FACTS and HVDC for curbing large-scale wind turbine tripping

2016
Along with the rapid development of AC-DC hybrid power system, Flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) and HVDC transmission system has been widely used in electric power system, which provides a new control technology and effective means for curbing large-scale wind turbine tripping in china in recent years. The wind turbine tripping scene after the AC/DC faults is analyzed, which shows that suppressing large voltage fluctuation after fault is the key of reducing wind turbine tripping, and then the necessity of coordination between the optimal configuration of FACTS equipment before fault and HVDC emergency power support after fault for curbing wind turbine tripping is expounded. On the premise that power system is security and stability, It explores ways of solving the problem of large-scale wind turbine tripping through coordinated optimization between FACTS and HVDC with minimum cost control. Under the sensitivity index of improving the wind farm collection bus bar voltage fluctuation, it realizes curbing large-scale wind turbine tripping and economic operation of power grid through coordination optimization with pre-accident stationing and capacity configuration of FACTS equipment and post-accident HVDC emergency power support. At last, it is validated by a schedule power grid.
