Vertical Plasmonic Nanoantenna for Emission and Redirection

2018
The control of the light at the nanoscale is of major importance for several applications based on the improvement of photonic devices efficiency. For that purpose, localized plasmon have attracted a lot of interest due to the strong confinement of electromagnetic fields that they induce. The large field enhancements in plasmonic nanostructure coupled to an emitter can give rise to an antenna device if the structure is properly designed. In this paper, we present a vertical antenna for emission redirection. This antenna is composed of a dimer which resonates in the visible range. We show that the adjunction of another particle on the top of the dimer can redirect the emission. A first experimental realization is presented.
