Near‐Infrared Photothermal Response of Plasmonic Gold‐Coated Nanoparticles in Tissues

A new approach based on the Pennes bioheat transfer equation are proposed to understand the photothermal effect of silica‐gold core‐shell nanoparticles injected into chicken tissues. The theoretical analysis capturing collective heating effects of the nanostructures and influence of perfusion on thermal transport is in good agreement with experimental measurements.
