Cytotoxic, Hemolytic and Mutagenic Issue caused by Chrysotile-Asbestos In Vitro

1989
The development of malignant alterations has been well documented in association with previous occupational or environmental exposure to asbestos dust (Kagan et all. 1977). Interest of action of asbestos has centered largely on the structural and aerodynamic properties of the fibers. However, litlle attention has been paid to the soluble components of asbestos fibers. The biologically harmful effect of asbestos have been extensively investigated but mechanisms by which asbestos fibers cellular and intracellular alteration are not completely understood.
