Design of Automatic Carrier Landing System Based on Deck Motion Prediction

2010
Deck motion caused by ocean wave changed touchdown point position, which seriously threatened the safety of aircraft landing. Aircraft must follow deck motion in order to improve the precision of landing and avoid hard collision between aircraft and deck. The automatic carrier landing system based on improved LQR method can’t avoid overshoot and lag inherently. Employing deck motion prediction and compensation technology with frequency response can accurately compensate for the overshoot and the lag inherent in altitude command control system and increase the accuracy and safety of aircraft landing.
