Clinical study of amniotic membrane transplantation and Fluconazole to treat fungal coneal ulcers after iodine tincture

Objective To study the clinical effect of amniotic membrane transplantation and Fluconazole to treat fungal corneal ulcers after indine tincture cautery.Methods The clinical symptoms of 20 cases(22 eyes) of fungal corneal ulcers were up to the diagnostic standard.Hyphae or sporonts were found on the mycotic scraps,debridement was given to the fungal corneal ulcer and iodine tincture was used for the ulcer focus,then amniotic membrane pieces was transplanted.Fluconazole was injected ander the adnata,frequently dropping.Results After 3-12 months,17 eyes were cured and the visual acuity were improved in different extent,2 eyes were cured with corneal cicatricy and the visual acuity were declined,3 eyes weren't cured after amniotic membrane transplantation for many times and advised them to perform keratoplasty.Conclusion Amniotic membrane transplantation after iodine tincture and Fluconazole is a very valuable method for the treatment of fungal corneal ulcers.【
