The invention discloses a digital light processing projector and a color compensation method for a lamp bulb thereof. The digital light processing projector comprises a projection unit, a sensing unit and a color compensation unit. The projection unit comprises the lamp bulb, a color wheel and a control module. The control module controls energy provision for the lamp bulb and the color of the color wheel according to an energy waveform, so that the projection unit projects various colors of light. The sensing unit detects the quality of the various colors of light projected by the projection unit. The color compensation unit compares the quality, detected by the sensing unit, of the various colors of light with original quality, and regulates the energy waveform according to comparison results to compensate for differences among the various colors of light.
