Efficiency of thermoelectric conversion in the presence of a small temperature drop

1979
A thermocouple converting electrical energy into thermal was used to control the temperature of a thermistor. This combination could be used as a small-signal amplifier providing a gain of 1000. Moreover, the Peltier effect in this combination could be used to control an optical signal. (AIP)
