[Treatment of patients with small angle squint by exercising with Starkiewicz's tele-stereoscopy and synoptophore].

1994
: The authors examined 26 persons, 6-52 years old, with small angle squint (7 cases with esodeviation and 9 with exodeviation). The patients were treated according to localization method, stage II/III, their visual acuity was 0.6-1.0 with correction and they had normal binocular vision. During two weeks, for 10 to 15 minutes twice a day, they trained fusion using Starkiewicz's telestereoscope and synoptofor. In the group of patients with exodeviation, the range of fusion was increased on the average, by 3.6 degrees for long distance and 4.0 degrees for short distance. In these patients, prismatic correction was decreased on the average, by about 3.0 prism D. In the group of patients with esodeviation the range of fusion was increased on the average, by 1.5 degrees for long distance and 1.8 degrees for short distance. Prismatic correction was decreased on the average, by about 3.0 prism D.
