Studying the impacts of various scale TIDs on ionograms of oblique incidence and near-vertical incidence sounding of the ionosphere with continuous chirp signals

Within the geometric-optical approximation, trajectory characteristics of the oblique incidence sounding signals on 2000 km and 3000 km paths and on 120 km path of near-vertical incidence sounding were numerically simulated. We detected typical spatial scales and amplitude characteristics of ionospheric disturbances that cause significant ionogram distortions in the form of rapidly changing Z-type features on experimental ionograms in the Asian part of Russia.
