LED Projection Module enables a vehicle to communicate with pedestrians and other vehicles

As seen in self-driving cars recently, vehicles have been getting highly computerized for increased safety and convenience. Nonetheless, the number of cases of fatal accidents involving pedestrians at night does not appear to decrease the way we expect. The authors therefore propose the road illuminating system using the LED Projection Module in which the system projects image information on a road surface that enables communication between human and cars in order to reduce pedestrians' fatal accidents at night. This paper discusses the system and its development.
