Archaeological prospection in a noisy environment with ground penetrating radar (GPR)

2000
Magnetic and resistrvity measurements are the most applied geophysical methods in archaeological prospections. They allow fast and cost-effective surveys of large areas. GPR is expensive, however, very time consuming, and therefore commonly used to prospect small areas. Nevertheless, they are many cases where magnetic and resistivity measurements cannot be carried out. For example: urban areas, on roads and railways, places with modem buildings with deep foundations, etc.
