SAR – Concepts and its use for geodetic measurements:Differential Interferometry, DEMs & Imaging Geodesy

2014
The first part of the presentation explains the concepts and the imaging geometry of SAR. Essential image quality parameters and geometric properties are explained. In the second part, three SAR-based geodetic measurement techniques are presented: Differential SAR interferometry is used for the deformation measurement of land and infrastructure with millimeter accuracy. igital elevation models are generated from interferometric SAR data. Technology and samples from TanDEM-X are shown. Imaging geodesy is a new method for the localization and tracking of objects with centimeter accuracy. All techniques are described and recent results from TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X are shown.
