Catheter (1) for treating a blood vessel (13) having an inner surface and one or more plaque deposits (14) including a core material, comprising: an elongated body (2) having a proximal end (3) and a distal end (4); a first balloon (6) disposed about a first portion of the elongated body (2) for engaging one or more plaque deposits (14) of the inner surface of the vessel (13) and extracting the core material therefrom; one second ball (7) disposed about a second portion of the elongated body (2) for engaging one or more plaque deposits (14) of the inner surface of the vessel (13) and extracting the core material therefrom; and a first venturi section (5) disposed between the first balloon (6) and the second balloon (7) type.
