Nova Abordagem dos Filmes de Amido e Quitosana como Mulching Biodegradável

The polymers starch and chitosan can to result in biodegradable films from to reduce the plastic pollution. The addition of chitosan can to improve the properties the of starch films, already films used in the agriculture need of addition of the pigments form control the growth of the invasive plants. The aim of this work was to analyze the behavior of the mulch obtain of starch/chitosan films added of the inorganic pigments. The values of tensile strength at rupture changes not with the formulation, while films added with pigments were more flexibles. The addition of the chitosan reduced the solubility of films in twice in comparation films only of the starch. In contact with soil the films showed decrease in the properties, changes in the spectrum and micrographs, however the films no showed visible cracks by 45 days. The starch/chitosan films served as biodegradable mulch.
