Trassierungserfassung mittels GPS/INS

2005
An important task of testing new railway vehicles is the assessment of the interactions between the vehicles and the railroad. For that purpose, the knowledge of the track geometry is crucial. A measurement system has been developed, consisting of a combination of receivers of the Global Positioning System (GPS) and an Inertial Navigation System (INS). This system can be installed in virtually every existing rail vehicle and, thus, allows recording the track by the test vehicle itself at a reasonable quality level.
