Modeling and practical demonstration of multiple optical fiber ring resonators in the microwave domain

The modeling and practical demonstration of optical fiber ring resonators for microwave bandpass filters in the X-band are proposed. Experimental investigations on the microwave behavior of the device have been performed. A third-order optical filter at 8.8 GHz with 180 MHz bandwidth and 3 dB insertion loss is shown. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
