Calculation of excess properties, phase equilibria, and global phase diagrams of mixtures containing refrigerants

1995
A non-cubic equation of state, in connection with 1-fluid type mixing rules, is used to correlate phase equilibrium data of simple mixtures of cryogenic importance. The mixing rules contain fractal exponents in order to reflect variable packing efficiencies at different densities. Adjustment of some binary parameters is required to achieve a good representation of experimental phase equilibria. These parameters can be used to predict excess enthalpies and volumes. The phase behaviour of some (fluorohydrocarbon + alkane) mixtures is also discussed in terms of global phase diagrams
