Large unidirectional anisotropy in Nd60Fe30Al10 bulk amorphous alloys

Abstract Magnetic hysteresis measured on the Nd 60 Fe 30 Al 10 samples cooled previously in an external field of 100 kOe reveals the existence of a large unidirectional anisotropy in a wide temperature range. The exchange bias field reaches a high value of 8 kOe at 4.2 K. A strong correlation between the temperature dependence of the exchange bias field and the magnetic ordering of the secondary magnetic phases is observed.
