Pulse-height encoders for the analysis of a large counter system

Abstract The 4096-channel pulse-height encoders used for the analysis of a 648-counter system are described. Eight encoders are placed on less than one-half of a single-width CAMAC unit. The circuit has a linear response for input pulses between 1 mV and 1 V and is quite stable.
