Calculation of capacitors for starting up a three-phase asynchronous motor fed by single-phase power supply

In the article a method for the determination of the capacitance necessary for starting up a three-phase asynchronous motor fed by a single-phase power supply is presented. The method and a calculation algorithm are based on a highly adequate mathematical model of the asynchronous motor which takes into account the magnetic core saturation and current displacement in the rotor bars. The task is solved as the boundary problem for the system of differential equations describing the processes in the engine in phase coordinate axes.
