The water meter is added with a mechanical register and a motor on the basis of an existing electronic helical vane type water meter; a circuit board is connected with the motor; the circuit board is used for calculating the flow of water according to a pulse signal received, and sending a pulse voltage signal to the motor whenever the flow of water is increased by 0.1cm3; whenever the motor receives the pulse voltage signal, the output shaft of the motor rotates by 3.6 degrees; the output shaft of the motor is connected with the character wheel of the mechanical register to drive the mechanical register to work. As a high-performance iron core is adopted by the motor connected with the mechanical register, the motor is still capable of working normally when the batter voltage is 2V, and the reliability of the battery working in a low voltage state can be guaranteed. The mechanical counting electronic water meter is used for solving the problem that the metering settlement is affected by abnormal electronic display due to insufficient battery power supply and the like in the working process of the conventional electronic water meter, and has practical significance in the intelligent power supply industry.
