The invention relates to an edge sealing method for a secondary lithium battery. The edge sealing method comprises the following steps: (1) drawing a 3D model for a to-be-sealed battery edge of the secondary lithium battery and inputting the 3D model to a 3D printer; (2) positioning the to-be-sealed secondary lithium battery to a 3D printing area and fixing the secondary lithium battery on the relative position in the 3D printing area; (3) simulating the battery edge and setting a printing path by the 3D printer according to the 3D model; (4) filling a print head of the 3D printer with an edge sealing glue, moving the print head along the preset printing path and printing for at least one time and wrapping the printed edge sealing glue at the edge of the battery; (5) curing the edge sealing glue. Compared with the traditional equipment adhesive tape, the edge sealing method provided by the invention has the advantage that the application scope is wide; the edge sealing method is applicable to the batteries in any shape and any model; the large-scale batch production for the sealing edge of the irregular edge battery can be realized.
