The Design of an Automatic Detecting Equipment for the Magnetic Core Defects

Manganese-zinc soft magnet material is made of waste iron red produced by cold rolled steel plate pickling and new slag of cold rolling mill as the main raw material, and sintered with a certain proportion of manganese trioxide and other additives. As the production material of magnetic core, its inherent material characteristics make it easy to occur in the process of machining, such as lacking of angle, crystal spot, crack and other undesirable phenomenas. In this paper, an automatic core detection equipment based on machine vision is designed, and the image of the core is obtained by multi-station shooting. After filtering and feature extraction, it can replace the manual detection of whether the core is defective or not. According to the experimental result, the device can save 23% detection time, and then reduce the production cost.
