Dynamic cerebral gadolinium-enhanced subtraction MR angiography

1995
Dynamic cerebral GD-enhanced subtraction MR angiography (MRSA) and comparative two-dimensional time-of-flight MRA were performed in 15 patients (17 examinations). MRSA uses a fast Turbo-FLASH sequence (eight consecutive sets), in conjunction with a bolus injection of Gd-DOTA at the end of the second set, and maximum-intensity projection postprocessing of subtracted pre-from-postinjection images. Durai sinuses were well delineated by MRSA. Small arteries were poorly defined. MRSA appeared to be useful for detection of sinus thrombophlebitis, tumoural superior sagittal sinus compression or obstruction, and subtraction of subacute haematoma.
