THE FRICTIONAL BOND BETWEEN STEEL AND CONCRETE ELEMENTS IN COMPOSITE STRUCTURES WITHOUT DOWELLS

1972
A study is made of the safety of a composite beam bonded without dowels, account being taken of slips in the bond joint. As the system alters with increases in load, the linearity between loading and stress is lost. Therefore reference has to be made to a bearing capacity method; that is, bearing capacity has to be checked below the load multiplied by the safety factor.
