The utility model provides a domestic service robot based on Kinect and FPGA (Field-programmable Gate Array), which comprises a framework, wherein a host computer and a slave computer are mutually connected and sequentially arranged on the framework from the top down, and the host computer is also connected with a Kinect sensor; the slave computer is respectively connected with a plurality of electric motor drivers, each electric motor driver is connected with a DC servo motor, one DC servo motor is connected with a motor coder and drives a group of omnidirectional wheels; all the motor coders are connected with the slave computer; and the host computer and the slave computer are connected with each other via a serial port receiving/transmitting module. The domestic service robot has the functions of identifying a host, following the host, freely moving in any direction, remote control, human-computer interaction and entertainment, and overcomes defects of the conventional domestic service robot, including single function, complex structure, poor interaction performance and the like.
